Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 12

I am upset because I see a meaningless world.

+++

The ego-mind is distressed by the Oneness of Reality; that-which-is-neither good nor bad; in nor out; up nor down; right nor left.

The ego is comfortable with differences and distinctions because such is the justification for separation. Therefore, the Oneness of Reality must be painted over with the stripes of differences and distinction, else the ego is distressed.

These stripes of difference and distinction have no meaning in themselves but make partitions and barriers to separate this from that. Once painted, however, distress remains.

We have accepted that we must be alone and isolated, because of these barriers. We hide behind them for protection from the “other”, forgetting that the barriers themselves are the justification for our fear.

We forget Oneness. We forget to laugh. We forget what we are. Fear is our experience. We are upset.

Without barriers, there is simply Oneness; there can be no “other” to fear.

This is why fear has no place in Oneness.
