Oneness Commentary:
LESSON 17
I see no neutral things.
+++
Oneness is love with no opposite “outside” and no distinctions “within”.
Oneness is pure, simple, and eternally joyful: perfect peace.
The ego must “paint over” this profound and perfect peace with stripes of different shapes, colors, and sizes, then sell you the idea that it is reality. This makes you a perceiver.
Everything you perceive is perceived as it compares and contrasts with something else. Before you can question this sell-job, the ego shouts, “Look out there!” or “Watch out for that one!” or “Here! Protect this one instead of that one!”. While you deal with disturbing “problems”, you forget to question the source of the stripes you perceive. Your thought system remains enmired in “separation mode”.
The separation mode of thinking is the source of the illusion-of-a-world you experience and why you seem to be in it.
The freedom of Oneness is currently beyond your experience. The recovery of the experience of this freedom requires that you first accept your current mode of thinking, just as it is. This acceptance is the first step in unlearning it.
Although this fact is hidden from you, your mind is the source of this illusory world. The challenge is to accept that your mind’s hidden sourcing of the illusion is like water “hidden” from a fish.
To reveal your mind, you must pay attention to and respect what shows up in the illusion.
In the illusion, any perception can be experienced at any time. No “order” is imposed from “outside” of this illusion. If this were not true, you would, indeed, be a “victim of the world you see”.
