LESSON 56

W-pi.56

Oneness Commentary:

W-pI.56.1. (26) My attack thoughts are attacking my invulnerability.

You believe that attack is possible therefore you accept the concept of “threat”. In Oneness there is no “other” to attack or be attacked by.

Oneness remains unchanged, even while you deny its reality.

W-pI.56.2. (27) Above all else I want to see.

You may see yourself as apart from or a part within Oneness. You may, therefore, see yourself as a small part versus the Whole. Real vision goes beyond seeing the world in parts and pieces. To see Oneness, as you look at all the world, is to see yourself truly.

W-pI.56.3. (28) Above all else I want to see differently.

It is a paradox that we must train the mind to see differently in order gain sight of the eternally unchanging sameness of Truth (Oneness).

W-pI.56.4. (29) God is in everything I see.

In truth, there is no place to turn where Oneness is missing from sight. Such a world view requires the will to look past all appearances.

W-pI.56.5. (30) God is in everything I see because God is in my mind.

Oneness remains unchanged and unchanging in the Mind of God. You remain unchanged and unchanging in that Mind also. As God creates everything the same as God’s self, what Oneness is can be no different what you are.

Intro to Lessons 51 – 60

LESSON 55

W-pi.55

Oneness Commentary:

W-pI.55.1. (21) I am determined to see things differently.

Disease, disaster and death must be separation ideas and are therefore not real. Their illusory nature does not, however, prevent them from being tools for your learning.

Seeing the illusion differently is the necessary preparation to accustom your mind to Oneness. To see the illusion differently is the same as seeing yourself differently.

W-pI.55.2. (22) What I see is a form of vengeance.

If the Reality of God is Oneness (or Non-Difference), the world of separated things represents an attack on the idea that Oneness is true. Attack is a form of vengeance.

The “love” that you know is the profound appreciation for a thing because it is different from other things. The Love of God is the recognition of Non-Difference (Oneness). The peace of loving thoughts comes from the idea that the Love of God and the Love of His Son are One.

That is God’s Reality.

W-pI.55.3. (23) I can escape from this world by giving up attack thoughts.

To Forgive is to notice that your perceptions are your separation thoughts projected outward. To Forgive is to accept responsibility (not fault) for what seems to belong to someone else. To Forgive is to know the “other” in a “non-Different” way.

W-pI.55.4. (24) I do not perceive my own best interests.

If you are a sea turtle and you think you are a hare, you will try to eat things that do not prosper you. You will neglect the expansive watery environment suited to your real nature and experience suffering in a place that is not your home.

Choose expansiveness as your Home.

W-pI.55.5. (25) I do not know what anything is for.

If the separated world is true then you really have separated from God. If Oneness is true, you remain as God created you, non-different from God.

Intro to Lessons 51 – 60

LESSON 54

W-pi.54

Oneness Commentary:

W-pI.54.1. (16) I have no neutral thoughts.

Oneness accepts no judgments. There is no up or down, right or wrong, good or bad. There is only, what is true or not true.

Oneness is true. “Something else” is not true.

W-pI.54.2. (17) I see no neutral things.

Neutrality and Oneness have the same meaning. Perception and separation have the same meaning. Your perceptual experience of a separated world occurs because you have a separated mind.

The world you see shines with increasing brilliance as your mind changes to accept Oneness, a miracle at a time.

W-pI.54.3. (18) I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my seeing.

Close to Oneness is the One-Mind-That-Thinks-It-Is-Many (the Sonship). From the point of view of separation, all minds are “connected” in this One mind. “Your” mind is the One mind, although this is not your reality.

The source of the world you see is the state of “your” mind.

As you change “your” mind about the world, “your” seeing is changed. Also changed, must be the One-Mind-That-Thinks-It-Is-Many.

W-pI.54.4. (19) I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my thoughts

Close to Oneness is the One-Mind-That-Thinks-It-Is-Many (the Sonship). From the point of view of separation, all minds are connected in this One Mind. “Your” mind is the One mind, although this is not your reality. Therefore, to change your mind is to change the One Mind.

W-pI.54.5. (20) I am determined to see.

The sight of Oneness, in a separated world, remains your choice. There is no compulsion.

Intro to Lessons 51 – 60

LESSON 53

W-pi.53

Oneness Commentary:

W-pI.53.1. (11) My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.

Your real thoughts are based in Oneness. Your insane thoughts are based in separation. The insane thoughts are the meaningless ones which show you this world.

W-pI.53.2. (12) I am upset because I see a meaningless world.

Oneness can have no chaos but only peace. You can choose peace at any time.

W-pI.53.3. (13) A meaningless world engenders fear.

Oneness (or Reality), is constant and therefore dependable and trustworthy. There can be nothing to fear in Oneness.

W-pI.53.4. (14) God did not create a meaningless world.

What God creates is One, eternal, perfect and non-different from God.

W-pI.53.5. (15) My thoughts are images that I have made.

The images I have made are of something-else and therefore represent an attack on God. But, if Oneness is true there can be no attack.

Either Oneness is true or something-else is true.

Oneness is true.

Intro to Lessons 51 – 60

LESSON 52

W-pi.52

Oneness Commentary:

W-pI.52.1. (6) I am upset because I see what is not there.

There is either Oneness or there is “Something else”. God creates in the mode of Oneness and not in the mode of this world that you perceive. What God created cannot be perceived. Even though “The Real” is not perceptible, “The Real” is what you really are. This is why the experience of “Something else”, must be upsetting.

W-pI.52.2. (7) I see only the past.

As you look upon the world, you must notice difference and separation in all you perceive. You notice that your “current” experience is different from your “past” experience. You think that what you look upon is real and true. You fail to recall that only Oneness can be Real and True or to notice the evidence of Oneness shining behind perceptions.

W-pI.52.3. (8) My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.

The meaning of the Oneness of “eternity” is the state of being “outside of time” or timelessness.

Separation is justified as today, is experienced as different than tomorrow. In this way, time argues against Oneness. Because you think there are problematic differences between past and present, you are distracted from questioning the lie of separation.

W-pI.52.4. (9) I see nothing as it is now.

You chose to see the “here and now” by comparing it to a different place and in a past moment. This is not possible in Oneness.

W-pI.52.5. (10) My thoughts do not mean anything.

Private means separated, which has no meaning in Oneness.

My natural thoughts are those I think with (the Universe) God.

LESSON 48

There is nothing to fear.

W-pi.48

Oneness Commentary:

The “you” that-you-think-you-are, is the source of all that you fear.

Fear is a separation idea. The feared is your thought of walls, projected “outward”. There must be a separating wall between one who fears and what is feared. There can be no walls in Oneness.

Anything that is not Oneness is illusion, no matter how much you may desire “something else”.

As Oneness and God are the same, the extent that you recognize that only Oneness is true, is the same extent that you remember God.

This remembrance is the end of fear.

Intro to Part I

LESSON 47

God is the strength in which I trust.

W-pi.47

Oneness Commentary:

“You” believe the impossible. “You” believe you are a part of the indivisible.

As “you” identify with a part, or a piece, the strength that you identify with is the strength of a part, or a piece. How can this strength be trusted compared to the strength of the whole?

Separation means that you are on your own. Separation means that there are other parts, as you are a part. These other parts must be different if separation is true. One of these other different parts may be bigger or stronger, therefore threat seems possible.

By definition, the “parts” must be unknown to each other else separation must be denied. You feel vulnerable to the unknown part that is potentially bigger or stronger  than the part you identify as “you”.

Strength has no meaning in Oneness. Power is not necessary. There is no such thing as effort. This, however, is not your experience because you do not accept or identify with Oneness.

Fortunately, Oneness remains true if you believe it or not. It is the strength of Oneness that we connect with and rely on in todays practice.

Intro to Part I

LESSON 46

God is the Love in which I forgive.

W-pi.46

Oneness Commentary:

A better term for Oneness is Only-ness.

If Only-ness is true, only God exists. If Only-ness is true, God=Love=Forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the reminder that Only-ness remains true, even within an experience  that validates a fearful and separated world. Fear requires that the fearful be “set apart” from that-which-is-feared.

Because Only-ness is true, the specialness and distinctions of a separated world require constant justification. It is these justifications that enable you to assert that you really are “set apart” from others and therefore “set apart” from God.

Forgiveness represents the letting-go of these justifications.
