Instructions below *

Intro to Part I

W-pi.23-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 23

I can escape from the world I see

by giving up attack thoughts.

+++

An attack thought is between you and another person or two others.

Your thoughts are of segmentation, pieces, and parts. Every piece and part is known by its differences and distinctions vs. other pieces and parts. Your belief that segmentation is true is an attack on Oneness in the form of denying Oneness.

If Oneness is true, the attacker and the attacked can be no different. In Oneness, there can be no such things as “you” and “another”.

In Oneness, there can be no “victim situation”, but such a vision of insanity is possible; “You” are the source of it.

Acceptance of the truth of Oneness is the escape from this vision of insanity.

W-pi.22-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 22

What I see is a form of vengeance.

+++

An attack thought is either between myself and another person or two others. If Oneness is true, there can be no such thing as “other”, “another”, or even “myself”.

Forgiveness is the knowing of “non-difference” in all we perceive. In this view of the world, there is no “attacked” or “attacker” and no “defender”.

Learning begins by recognizing that there may be something to learn.

Oneness, only, is true.

You erroneously believe that differences and distinctions are true.

It is possible to use this error to correct this error.

The experience of illusion is a learning tool.

 I am determined to see.

+++

“God is not good, or else he could do better.”

Meister Eckhart

Without sight, the “Good” of God is unknowable. It is a “good” without a corresponding “Bad” to contrast with.

There is nothing so splendid or desirable in this world of opposites as this “Good”.

This is the “Good” that is Only-ness.

The Reality of God (Only-ness) is your birthright. The development of sight facilitates the experience of this Reality.

LESSON 19

I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my thoughts.

+++

The One-mind that accepts multiplicity seems to experience many minds. However, the mind is One, as God is one.

Because the mind is truly One, a change in any seemingly separate mind must change the One.

That is why I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my thoughts.

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 18

 I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my seeing.

+++

The One-mind that accepts multiplicity seems to experience many minds. One way home for the mind in this state is to recognize that all seemingly alone minds are joined in the One-mind; the joining of what-could-never-have-been-broken.

Alone means, “someone else” is possible but not available. In this sense, it may be more correct to say that Oneness does not mean loneliness but

“Only-ness”.

There can be no “alone” in Only-ness.

Only-ness means, the mind is One as God is one.

Instructions below *

Intro to Part I

W-pi.17-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 17

I see no neutral things.

+++

Oneness is love with no opposite “outside” and no distinctions “within”.

Oneness is pure, simple, and eternally joyful: perfect peace.

The ego must “paint over” this profound and perfect peace with stripes of different shapes, colors, and sizes, then sell you the idea that it is reality. This makes you a perceiver.

Everything you perceive is perceived as it compares and contrasts with something else. Before you can question this sell-job, the ego shouts, “Look out there!” or “Watch out for that one!” or “Here! Protect this one instead of that one!”. While you deal with disturbing “problems”, you forget to question the source of the stripes you perceive. Your thought system remains enmired in “separation mode”.

This separation mode of thinking is the source of the illusion-of-a-world you experience and why you seem to be in it.

The freedom of Oneness is currently beyond your experience. The recovery of the experience of this freedom requires that you first accept your current mode of thinking, just as it is. This acceptance is the first step in unlearning it.

Although this fact is hidden from you, your mind is the source of this illusory world. The challenge is to accept your mind’s hidden sourcing of the illusion is like water “hidden” from a fish.

To reveal your mind, you must pay attention to and respect what shows up in the illusion.

In the illusion, any perception can be experienced at any time. No “order” is imposed from “outside” of this illusion. If this were not true, you would, indeed, be a “victim of the world you see”.

Intro to Part I

W-pi.16-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 16

 I have no neutral thoughts.

+++

The nature of your thinking remains beyond direct awareness but can be known via your perceptions.

The nature of your thinking is the cause of what you perceive; the illusory world you know is the effect. Do not disregard this illusion just because it is an illusion or because you do not like what you encounter. The illusory world shows your state of mind, which is otherwise hidden from you.

What is apparent will either reflect the “truth” of multiplicity or the Truth of simplicity (Oneness). For this reason, your life experience can be the curriculum for either separation or Oneness.

In Oneness, thoughts have no “where” to “go”. In Oneness, thoughts, ideas, and the expression of either, is One.

W-pi.15-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 15

My thoughts are images that I have made.

+++

Simply stated, Oneness cannot contain “things”, and there can be “no-thing” outside Oneness. The challenge we confront today is that our perception is filled with many “things”.

Perception requires differences and distinction.

The body is your most perceptible experience. Care of this body makes differences seem important. As long as you seem to have a body, you must respect the body you seem to have. As long as you seem to have a body, you must respect the likelihood that you believe differences are important.

While you believe differences are important, you will never question the function of your eyes as organs that seem to see “things” that are there. While you believe differences are important, you will experience barriers to the experience of Love’s presence.

This Course is mind training for letting go of these barriers.

Intro to Part I

W-pi.14-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 14

God did not create a meaningless world.

+++

“Complexity is not of God. ²How could it be, when all He knows is One? ³He knows of one creation, one reality, one truth and but one Son. ⁴Nothing conflicts with oneness.” (ACIM, T-26.III.1:1-4)

The world you see is complex and full of conflict. The ego is “comfortable” with the world. As you identify with the ego, you embrace this conflict.

You may find it challenging to accept conflict as “comfortable” to you; you do not notice how often you define your “self” by what you are against. Think of complexity as swaddling you have become comfortable with, even though it is constraining and confining. This swaddling is, of course, a barrier.

Because of your identification with the ego, your tolerance of Oneness has limits.

“The mind that taught itself to think specifically can no longer grasp abstraction in the sense that it is all-encompassing.” (ACIM, W-161.4:7)

If Oneness is true, there can be no barriers, only a “space” that is perfect and open yet full, complete. Learning to tolerate the presence of this “open space” will enable the choice to identify with your Real self.

Practice is required. There may be discomfort in this process, and this is understandable.

In this, you are not alone.
