Intro to Part I

W-pi.28-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 28

Above all else I want to see things differently.

+++

You see separation as true because your mind is no longer accustomed to the abstraction of Oneness.

This course prepares your mind for the knowing of Oneness while you seem to be immersed in separation.

This Oneness is the “Home” you are no longer accustomed to, yet a part of you only wants this. That is the part that you will connect with today, as you continue the journey “Home.”

Your task: to see all separated things in the light of Oneness.

Your goal: to further accustom your mind to Oneness, without fear and distress.

Intro to Part I

W-pi.27-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 27

Above all else I want to see.

+++

You may ask, “What is there to gain in Oneness?” Ask instead, “What is lost?”

In separation, you are taught to hold on to your tiny piece.

Accepting Oneness requires you to let go of the piece to have the whole, the One, the All.

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 26

My attack thoughts are attacking my invulnerability.

+++

The supporting assumption of the idea “against” is separation.

While it may be possible to let go of the idea of “against” by questioning this supporting assumption, you will not likely do so while being distracted by your fear of harm from some perceived threat.

Oneness remains true, and the idea of “against” has no place in it.

W-pi.25-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 25

I do not know what anything is for.

+++

In the world of multiples, there are multiple things. These things have multiple purposes, and your interactions with them will result in multiple possible outcomes.

The world of multiples teaches that the purpose of each thing is different and that this difference of purpose is important. From this teaching, you are certain that you know what you know about every thing you perceive. But, when the idea of Oneness is applied to the concept of the purpose of a thing, you find it challenging to even have the right questions before you.

If Oneness is true, there can be no things. Therefore, Oneness is a complete mystery for the mind that must regard things perceived.

Uncomfortable in the presence of “not-knowing”, we make things up. From this, the mind of multiplicity will see a drop of water in the ocean’s depths as a “thing” apart.

The development of comfort in the presence of “not-knowing” has tremendous value today.

Intro to Part I

W-pi.24-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 24

I do not perceive my own best interests.

+++

If Oneness is true, there can only be one thing to “want”.

In the world of multiples, there are multiple problems. These problems have multiple solutions, for which there are multiple outcomes to want.

For the mind of Oneness, “want” is sometimes a mystery, an abstraction. Want is based on the possibility of incompleteness, or the shift towards a perfected state. Oneness is whole and complete.

For the mind of multiplicity, want is also an abstraction. It is like that of a child who wants to eat the whole cake at their birthday party because he thinks this will make that One day a great day.

You think you know what will make you happy, yet you don’t even know what you are. The world of multiples taught you that you are one among many. This is all you know about what you are.

If Oneness is true, there can only be one thing to “want”.

Intro to Part I

W-pi.23-

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 23

I can escape from the world I see

by giving up attack thoughts.

+++

An attack thought is between you and another person or two others.

Your thoughts are of segmentation, pieces, and parts. Every piece and part is known by its differences and distinctions vs. other pieces and parts. Your belief that segmentation is true is an attack on Oneness in the form of denying Oneness.

If Oneness is true, the attacker and the attacked can be no different. In Oneness, there can be no such things as “you” and “another”.

In Oneness, there can be no “victim situation”, but such a vision of insanity is possible; “You” are the source of it.

Acceptance of the truth of Oneness is the escape from this vision of insanity.

Oneness Commentary:

LESSON 22

What I see is a form of vengeance.

+++

An attack thought is either between myself and another person or two others. If Oneness is true, there can be no such thing as “other”, “another”, or even “myself”.

Forgiveness is the knowing of “non-difference” in all we perceive. In this view of the world, there is no “attacked” or “attacker” and no “defender”.

Learning begins by recognizing that there may be something to learn.

Oneness, only, is true.

You erroneously believe that differences and distinctions are true.

LESSON 20

 I am determined to see.

“God is not good, or else he could do better.”

Meister Eckhart

Without sight, the “Good” of God is unknowable. It is a “good” without a corresponding “Bad” to contrast with.

There is nothing so splendid or desirable in this world of opposites as this “Good”.

This is the “Good” that is Only-ness.

The Reality of God (Only-ness) is your birthright. The development of sight facilitates the experience of this Reality.
